2020 has finally ended and 2021 arrived! And while the Covid cloud still hangs over our heads, vaccines are being distributed and the end is in sight. We not only wish each of you a happy New Year, but look forward to the day we can resume normal sailing and LMCA activities in full.
A big THANK YOU to all who participated in the December 11 Annual Meeting/Christmas event, either by proxy or in person on the Zoom. We were delighted that so many of you shared stories and experiences this year, caught up with friends, and in general appeared to have a good time. Your 2021 LMCA board has been duly elected, and we are determined to plan the best possible LMCA events for this year. Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to help keep LMCA vibrant for 2021!
For now, it appears that the pace of Covid vaccinations may not be quick enough for us to resume our Spring Thing in April, but we’ll continue to monitor the situation and make a decision at a future date. We’re cautiously optimistic that we will be able to hold the Rendezvous in July, something we’ll also need to assess as we move forward. We traditionally hold the Rendezvous on the same weekend as the Chicago to Mackinaw Race, which currently is scheduled for the July 16-18 weekend. So hold those dates!
Stay warm and healthy!
